What We Do

“If we all pitch in, just a little, we’re gonna get there.”

- Alex Trebek

Our Goals

I - Connect

We want to form a connection and establish a partnership with the families we help. We want to personalize the experience - we don’t want to just give stuff away. We recognize every household is unique. We want to let them know that there is an organization out there that is willing to help and be a resource.

II - Provide

Various studies have shown that around 75% of households live paycheck to paycheck. Work, get paid, pay bills, buy food, and repeat. There are programs in Illinois such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that can help with food, but they can’t be used for essential household items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste and deodorant. Our second goal will be to offer these products to households that could use these items to alleviate some of the pressures of paycheck to paycheck living. Perhaps they can use these savings for an emergency fund, education or healthcare. We will work with each family to establish a ‘wish list’ of day-to-day household items.

III - Support

We want to support any educational and vocational opportunities the families we work with pursue. Perhaps that is providing a tutor for a student or creating or updating a parent’s resume. Lastly, we want to build a network of dedicated individuals, organizations, and companies to leverage their experiences and expertise to help someone whose path might not be easy, straight or defined.
